Everything was incredibly fresh and clearly house made. The lox was perfect, and even the tomatoes were perfectly ripe. Service was also phenomenal, shout out to Fig! Sitting on the patio was a lovely experience.

My husband and I both have Celiac and we’re vegetarians. We visited here on our trip to New Orleans for brunch. This is a small and charming cafe-style joint with a nice patio. It’s not a dedicated kitchen but the staff happily prepared us an egg sandwich on housemade GF bread as well as an eggs & black beans breakfast with housemade tortillas. They cleaned off surfaces to prepare our meals. My husband and I are both very sensitive and felt fine after this meal. Amazing coffee here, too.

Some say the day starts when the sun rises, but any masters of life know time doesn't begin until you've stepped into Satsuma Cafe. Forget the fart (& whatever else) that freely flowed out of you in the early AM. No need to remember the muscle you pathetically pulled failing to reach the snooze button shortly after. Nothing before Satsuma matters. (And nothing after.) Married? Now you're single. A parent? There was never a child. Employed? Step directly to the cash register to completely omit any & all responsibilities. Who needs a paycheck, family or a life when the cuisine & vibes are this spectacular? Without Satsuma you are nothing. Make something of yourself - nay - make something EXTRAORDINARY of yourself & come support a cafe that will revolutionize the very core of your DNA. I had the lavendar lemonade and brunch hash. Was good. 5 stars.

*Update While there was delivery through food apps just last month, Satsuma is not able to do food delivery for some reason. Whoever the man is that answered my call 2 weeks ago, is not someone I would hire or want touching my food. It's unfortunate that people bring their misery into service business. The rest of staff is excellent. I used to frequent Satsuma when I lived in Bywater years ago. I loved the food and vibe there. I was happy to return since moving back and ordered the Breakfast Burrito for delivery and than dined in with my dog within 2 days because I was craving that burrito and the salsa it comes with. The staff here is so kind and go beyond what I expected. Peter is jovial and treated us like a house guest who needs for nothing. The man washing dishes in back was singing with the music so well, the soul was felt. That's great vibes I want around my food ! I have got the green juice twice also and got that to go because I couldn't Not, try the lavender coffee. Also got warmed blueberry muffin with butter. It's was a real blueberry muffin as in, it tasted like it was homemade with whole ingredients. Of course it was so delightful. My dog was given a treat the first last week also. Sweet. They still have books on a shelf here and the places is so spacious and comfortable to stay around. With outdoor seating for pets, I appreciate havens like this. Always will return here.

I go here several times a week. Chili Avocado Toast on GF bread is a go to. Vegan scramble is great, too. Don’t miss out on the dirty lemonade! This is a great little local cafe with gf options available. I don’t have such a severe issue that I need to worry about cross contamination, so I can’t say that it’s celiac safe, but it works for me!

One of my favorite coffee shops in the city! Amazing service and delicious coffee. I love the outdoor area under the trees. Such a peaceful environment. I had the bagel with lox and it was very good. It's also in a great part of town with a lot of cool shops around. Perfect if you want to get your coffee and wander around!
